Donkey Orphanage | Marrakech Day Trip
British NGO was created to look after orphaned, injured, old and discarded donkeys in Morocco.
Donkey Sanctuary – Susan and Charles, who live on-site, are providing a heart-warming and desperately needed lifeline to Morocco’s donates whilst also promoting good animal husbandry techniques to the people in the nearby villages.
The local men who work at Jarjeer are taught by example to look at animals through kinder eyes and are given permission to care.“When one of the men left last night, he actually bent down to say goodbye and kiss the donkey.”
They are doing great work here but they need our help and So Morocco will donate £15 from every booking we take in 2020, to this charity / foundation. You can also support the donkeys by booking this day trip with us. A So Morocco driver and car will collect you from your Marrakech accommodation and drive you and your family to the Donkey Sanctuary for a day or half day trip. Lunch can either be provided on request or we can arrange a picnic for you. Help by grooming and walking the donkeys and providing them with lots of love and cuddles or simply watch from the viewing gallery. This is Tommy – read his blog here.
This is a meaningful, enjoyable and extremely pleasant day trip and you can also enjoy exploring the pretty village of Oumnass. When you’re ready to leave, our driver will take you back to your riad or hotel. All our Morocco Tours and Day Trips are private (for your party only) with door to door service in a comfortable, air-conditioned car with professional, English speaking driver /guide and can be customised to suit you.
Contact us to discuss how a visit to the Donkey Sanctuary can be incorporated into your longer Tour of Morocco.
