Sadly we felt that we had no option but to take down this series of 3 blogs.

They were written by a nomad writer and historian who was describing the ancient methods of training camels in his tribe. He was not referring to camels used in tourism. He was giving a historical account of nomadic practices over several hundreds of years (long before desert tourism existed).

He also went to great lengths to explain the importance of treating each camel with respect and dignity.

PETA, who we support for their work with animals misused in tourism, took this out of context and referred to these blogs in one of their own. They named the author and implied that he was talking about tourism. They also did not make clear which of the points they listed were written by him and which were not and we felt that this was an unacceptable situation to put the author in and so have removed the blogs from our site while we wait for PETA to fact check the work of their writer.
