Coastal Tour of Morocco

Witness some of Morocco’s most stunning scenery and unspoilt local villages as well as time relaxing at the coast. With time in both, the modern resort of Agadir as well as the characterful Essaouira with its artistic scene and café culture – this is a taste of the rich variety Morocco has to offer.

Day 1 – Ouarzazate

Your Morocco Tour starts today when your driver will collect you from your Marrakech Riad/Hotel and begin the journey to Ouarzazate – The Door of the Desert. We will drive the exhilarating Tizi n Tichka Pass enjoying breathtaking scenery and photographic opportunities on the way.

Just off the pass, the road leads us to the bizarre Kasbah Telouet which we will stop to visit. This is a stunning though incomplete Kasbah with a rich history and much to see inside. Most Moroccan Kasbahs were used for various reasons but were not actually occupied, but Kasbah Telouet housed the important Glaoui family. From here we will drive on to Ait Ben Haddou, with its striking Southern Moroccan architecture. The areas include a Mosque, caravanserai and Muslim and Jewish centuries amongst others.

Overnight in Ouarzazate

Day 2 – Dades Gorge / Todra Gorge

Today we will make an excursion to either Dades or Todra Gorge. These two gorges (Morocco’s Grand Canyons) slice through the valley and with the High Atlas Mountains on one side and the desert on the other – this is dramatically beautiful scenery.

There are some pleasant (easy) walks available and we will see farmers and local families and have the chance to absorb some of the culture of this area of Morocco. Cooler mountain air and the stariest dark night skies await you.

Overnight in Todra Gorge

Day 3 – Taroudant

This morning we will move to Taroudant known as Mini Marrakech. Firstly we will pass through Taznekht, the town of Berber carpets and then onto Tallouine, Land of Saffron, the most expensive food on Earth. This is sometimes added to Moroccan tea and is thought to help men keep women happy. . . .

Finally, we will reach Taroudant, an exceptionally authentic example of a traditional Berber Town.

Overnight in Taroudant

Day 4 – Agadir – Essaouira

This morning we will collect you after breakfast and visit Agadir. Agadir is a new city with a very European feel and is a surfer’s paradise. As Morocco’s largest seaside resort it feels unlike anywhere else in Morocco.

In the afternoon, through the arga countryside, we will arrive at Essaouira, where we will spend the night.

In sharp contrast to Agadir, this is a captivating and tranquil whitewashed town with blue-shuttered houses and flourishing fishing industry.

Overnight in Essaouira

Day 5 – Marrakech

There will be time today to explore Essaouira and its shops selling excellent examples of textiles, jewellery, ceramics, musical instruments and handmade wooden items. Relax on the long sweeping stretch of golden, sandy beach or enjoy a camel ride or horse ride along the sands.

Numerous cafes offer a welcome people watching spot amidst the relaxed bustle of this pirate town.

Your Morocco tour ends in Marrakech but the timing of today will depend on your onward plans and we can be completely flexible to help you make the most of every last minute of your holiday.
